More Than 400 Participants and 7 Industry Organisations: Summary of the PPWR Webinar Series
The Thedy & Partners Regulatory Team delivered a series of webinars on the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) in cooperation with seven industry organisations. More than 400 business representatives took part in the sessions.
In recent weeks, the Thedy & Partners Regulatory Team has delivered a series of webinars on the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), in cooperation with seven organisations representing Polish businesses:
- APPLiA Poland, an association of household appliance and HVAC manufacturers;
- the Association of Wood-Based Panel Manufacturers in Poland;
- the Digital Poland Association;
- POLKARMA – the Polish Association of Pet Food Manufacturers;
- the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Furniture Manufacturers;
- the Polish Ceramics Union;
- the Polish Association of the Toy and Children’s Products Industry – Polish Toy Association.
More than 400 business representatives took part in the sessions, representing different sectors and roles within the supply chain.
Although little time remains before the PPWR begins to apply, the same questions continued to arise during the webinars:
- whether a particular type of packaging is subject to the new requirements at all;
- who qualifies as a manufacturer, importer or distributor under the PPWR;
- how to respond to enquiries from business partners;
- what information should be expected from suppliers;
- where to begin preparations to avoid acting too late.
“During the sessions, we discussed how to turn the legal requirements into concrete business actions and how to prepare an organisation for the new obligations without creating unnecessary disruption to operational processes. One observation was repeated every time: each sector faces its own PPWR implementation challenges, and there is no single universal preparation template,” emphasises the Thedy & Partners Regulatory Team.
Acknowledgements
We would like to thank all participants for their active involvement, numerous questions and engaging discussions during the Q&A sessions. The scale of interest shows that the PPWR is one of the key regulatory topics for businesses in 2026.
We would also like to extend special thanks to all the industry organisations with which we were able to co-create this initiative.
